The Dark Knight Returns is a four-issue miniseries published between February and June 1986, written and designed by Frank Miller. The series tells a story of Bruce Wayne, who at the age of 55 returns from retirement to fight crime and faces opposition from the Gotham City police force and the U.S. government. The story introduces the girl Carrie Kelley as the New Robin, and culminates in a showdown against Superman.
